Introduction

 
Here you will find a variety of retreats of different intensity for individuals or small groups of people. The aim is to provide an environment that does not challenge you if you are a beginner, that begins to gently challenge you if you have some experience and for those with considerable experience the aim is to again return to the place where there is no challenge-where you are meeting would be challenges effortlessly and seeing them naturally fall away. Dates are set for each retreat. If the date does not suit and you would like to experience what is offered, please propose a date using the organise a group link. These retreats are available all year round subject to availability of space
 
You may also book your own private retreat where you create and manage your own programme. 
 
 

What to expect

 
In each of these short retreats you will receive expert guidance from Ram Chatlani. These short retreats will be fully supported yet there will be opportunity enough for your own quiet contemplation and appreciation. You will have the opportunity to let go many of the mental and physical distractions that bind you to confusion and worry. You will learn the means by which to continue that process of letting go and developing a harmonious mind after you leave. While at Tourné you will have nothing to attend to except your well being and to follow the simple guidance that you will receive during a number of sessions each day. It will be recommended that you awake early and sleep early and the programme will ensure that your body and mind learn how to get deep restorative rest and relaxation. 
Each of these retreats are aimed at similar goals: to learn to allow the higher intelligence of the natural life force [chi, prana] to support your restoration and your progress, utlimately, your happiness at a level that is no longer dependant on external conditions.

For beginners,  the emphasis will be on integrating leisure time with learning the method. Learning to balance effort and ease is fundamental to success in all walks of life. It is so for success in spiritual practice as well.
 
Enjoy a retreat without expectation of result; the emphasis in these retreats is to allow the natural clarity of your mind to reveal itself. It may not appear at once, yet to learn the method, to patiently await in the right alignment sets up conditions for success. It is present moment awareness that supports the letting go of past habits, trauma, bad reaction. Lerning to live in the present is a remedial method for our times yet is has been one of the principal foundations of the world's great spiritual traditions. 
 
 
Many past participants in retreats at Tourné have enjoyed combining social interaction while participating in the exploration of the methods that ensure well being and happiness.
 
You will get the basic instructions you need to properly learn and sustain a practice and at the same time you will benefit from the experience of the dynamic between ease and of effort. Equally, the methods are suitable for those who are already established in soem practice, offering a fresh and sound approach. The practice you take away with you might be as simple as having a good dietary regime for a few days of the week to developing a daily meditation practice or chi gung practice to help you cope with the stress of daily life while preparing you for some of the longer and more demanding retreats offered at Tourné or elsewhere. Established practitioners will find the benefits of silent contemplation, what we might ordinarily call rest and recreation, has the potential to reveal with clarity.
 
Intermediate practitioners will be offered a more demanding programme dependant upon needs.  Here, the emphasis will be upon developing precision, investigating subtle details and extending perceived limits of  capacity deepening the theme of integrating ease with effort.
 
Advanced practitioners are offered more specific areas of study where application is sustained for longer periods and specific goals are set-in the knowledge that it is not attaining the goal that rings the results, rather, it is the characteristics of heart, mind and body that bring the benefit. The goal is a bonus. Approaching life’s challenges, or spiritual challenges, with this in mind, brings us to the very heart of the matter of success and happiness. Such questions as what constitutes success, what is happiness, these questions can only be answered directly, internally. Some call it wisdom. It arises naturally if the practice is properly directed.
 
 

Method

Each of these retreats uses different language and different form, yet there is one basis. That basis is beyond personal view and beyond personal opinion. There is one thing that is of immeasurable value in our well being and happiness, it is getting beyond personal issues and beyond opinions. One opinion follows another, all opinions meet either approval or disapproval. Seeking and insisting upon our opinions and our personal history continually conditions our energy and becomes debilitating. Getting beyond the relative and operating in the quantic presents a real challenge and offers untold benefits.

Full Weekend Option: arrive Friday evening by 6.00pm for evening meal.  Saturday and Sunday all meals. Monday breakfast only, leaving by 10.00am: €165
